Praise and Coffee Spartanburg

About:  Praise and Coffee Spartanburg is a Christian women’s group in Spartanburg, SC, where women meet monthly to connect, encourage, and inspire. We begin with some great fellowship and conversation and before our time together is over, we share in a short Bible study and pray for one another. We do it all over a good cup of coffee (or tea). Women need relationships! We like to refer to this as “ladies’ night out.” After all, we spend so much of our time doing everything for everyone…Don’t you think it’s time for a coffee break?

History:  Praise and Coffee was started by Sue Cramer in Plainwell, Michigan. Praise and Coffee nights started out with her desire to just hang out with girlfriends at a local coffee shop to share what God was doing in their lives and give Him praise. She then began blogging about the meetings, encouraging women everywhere to do the same! This idea spread like wildfire and soon women across the nation and the world began Praise and Coffee groups and Praise and Coffee nights. Sue was joined by Melissa Mashburn from Florida as the ministry expanded, including a website and online magazine. (check out page 15 of this edition.)

Spartanburg: In the summer of 2011, Jennifer Rash started the Spartanburg, SC, Praise and Coffee group. It began with a small group of ladies at an office building in the heart of Spartanburg for fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Our first year we had some incredible meetings where women were really able to share their hearts and receive ministry in a safe place.

In 2012, the group moved the meetings to the community area of City of Hope Church and enjoyed their own coffee bar along with the study of Lisa Bevere’s book, Lioness Arising. Several groups of women went through the study and were so stirred in their hearts and spirits.

At the beginning of 2013, the group decided that they would take the meetings out to the local coffee shops, rotating the meetings to different places each month. At the end of the year, they voted on their favorite coffee shop in town! This was great fun and the women began to refer to these meetings as their ladies’ night out. Ever since this year of meeting in different hotspots throughout town, we have continued to look forward to our meetings as a time to take a break from all that we have on our plates as women, and just come together for a time to build one another up in our Christian faith. Please join us as we gather to connect, encourage and inspire. Connect with us on our Praise and Coffee Spartanburg’s Facebook page for the date and location of the next meeting.
